While Infinity Blade 3 is still absolutely gorgeous to look at, especially on an iPad, it feels slightly dated compared to other iOS games like Horn that have offered a more compelling adventure using the same gameplay. This leveling up limitation existed in the prior games, but it was less of an issue when all of your weapon and armor funds weren't split between two heroes. Either character who has mastered all of their current gear can't gain any more experience until you buy some new tools for them. This becomes a problem since each character can only gain experience and level up so long as they haven't mastered their equipment. Unfortunately the gold you earn from battles doesn't seem to take into account the fact that you're now buying for two, which usually means each character takes turns waiting to upgrade their gear. Your progress is now split between two characters, Siris and Isa, who must level up separately and can only equip their own character-specific weapons and armor. The bosses are tough, requiring you to play through the chapter multiple times to level up your character and buy better equipment. Infinity Blade 3 is broken into chapters that span a variety of locations, with each chapter culminating in a boss fight. Timing is vital, allowing you to parry or dodge to create an opening for your own attacks. Like past games, players duel through a series of enemies by swiping with their finger to slash their sword and tapping on-screen arrows to dodge attacks.
